Findings

The conclusion drawn was that a lower body fat percentage generally leads to a higher maximum vertical jump. However, some outliers jumped higher than others with the same level of body fat percentage. This suggests that other factors, such as height, weight, and overall body composition, could also play a role. For instance, individuals with smaller bodies might exhibit higher relative strength when compared to larger individuals with the same body fat percentage. In addition, body composition could also influence outcomes as muscular players may be stronger, even if they carry more fat. Furthermore, factors like past injuries and training history, particularly training specifically for vertical jumps, can influence performance.
